There is a fundamental need for children and young adults of today to learn how to grow and harvest their unique gifts. The Whittaker Family Foundation was founded to help each individual cultivate and develop their gift, so that they can continue the cycle and pay it forward. Most times, in order for gifts to flourish, finances are needed and those that do not have a stable financial foundation are considered disadvantaged. Our foundation provides life skills that will help provide a financial education that can foster an environment to allow a gift to grow versus having to suppress it due to a financial hardship. Our goal is to fill the void of society where children become adults without understanding the currency that fuels every aspect of their lives. This will be accomplished through the first arm of our Foundation, the SEEDTIME HARVEST INITIATIVE. The short-term goal of this initiative is to hold workshops, forums and classes providing practical financial education, training and tools that may be utilized immediately by the participants. The long-term goal of this initiative is to create and implement an approved curriculum about all things concerning finances beginning late middle school to high school that is required to be completed prior to graduation.
The second arm of the Foundation, is the demonstrative arm, the OVERFLOW INITIATIVE. This outreach will reflect a community of individuals that have built a strong foundation and have an abundance and/or people that just have a heart to give that want to help meet the needs of the community. The short-term goals of The Overflow Initiative will include, but not be limited to, awarding scholarships, providing tutors, providing lessons, helping individuals purchase homes, and other charity for various needs of the community. The long-term goal is to raise a generation that understands the power of giving because someone else once gave to them.
